The first day of the DALI4US partners’ meeting was dedicated to a detailed overview of the activities and achievements to date.
The group responsible for the work package evaluation thoroughly presented the outcomes of the small-scale pilot. The responses and perceptions of teachers regarding the enhancement of digital literacy are particularly significant. Key aspects of the training include the regular testing of solutions introduced at the sessions, as well as both didactic and technical support, since both teachers and students lack proficiency in using software tools. This raises the challenge of recognising its added value, especially with the integration of AI approaches, which are essential in an age characterised by vast amounts of data.
A comprehensive discussion ensued, particularly regarding preparations for large-scale training in the next academic year. This was followed by final validation, alignment among partners, and a review of evaluation mechanisms and outputs within the Methodological framework for teacher training. The discussion underscored the advantages of the activities thus far, particularly during the exploratory and small-scale phases. The group for this work package also prepared lessons learned and engaged in a discussion on the utilisation of the Orange tool to date and its further adaptation for the upper secondary level, explicitly addressing the progress in the thorough preparation and implementation of training and testing of learning scenarios in the classroom.
The first day continued with a dialogue on the comprehensive preparation of practical scenarios, with an emphasis on aligning training activities with the curriculum, particularly non-digital activities. Specifically, the elements of critical thinking and data literacy, as well as a systematic approach including leadership, are being reinforced.
